Sunday, August 11th
TUNA FUN RUN 5K & 10K – Sponsored by Strong Tides CrossFit
8am to 8:45am - Registration
9am - Fun Run starts
Come walk or run a 5K or 10K starting at the Wedgeport Tuna Museum! Check out our Facebook page for this year’s new simplified routes. The first 50 registered participants are guaranteed a t-shirt and souvenir medal.
Cost: $30 (children ages 12 and under run for FREE!)
TINY TUNA 600-METER RUN – Sponsored by Flying Eagle Fisheries Ltd.
10am to 10:20am - Registration
10:30am - Run starts
Tie your tiny shoes and join our 600m Tiny Tuna Run at the Wedgeport Tuna Museum. Children ages 12 and under have the opportunity to race to the finish line!
This event is FREE!
Monday, August 12th
ACADIAN CUISINE COOKING CLASS – Sponsored by Acadian Shores Health Centre
6pm to 8pm - Wedgeport Tuna Museum, Lower Wedgeport
Join us in learning how to make Acadian rappie pie and homemade brown bread. Participants will be divided into small groups, and everyone will leave with an oven-ready small portion of rappie pie and brown bread/rolls. Recipes, ingredients, and cooking utensils will be provided.
Please pre-register by August 9th by calling 902-663-2560 or messaging us on Facebook.
Cost: $15 per person
Wednesday, August 14th
FIN-TASTIC FUN FAIR – Sponsored by Finest Kind Fisheries Ltd.
1pm to 3pm - Wedgeport and District Fire Department, Upper Wedgeport
Bring your children ages 12 and under to enjoy an afternoon full of fun and giggles! There will be an assortment of activities and games for everyone to enjoy. A canteen ($) will be available.
A parent/guardian must accompany children for the duration of the activity. This event is FREE!

WEDGEPORT COMMUNITY YARD SALE
Starting at 9am - All throughout Wedgeport
Set up in your front yard or in the Coastal Financial Credit Union parking lot if you need a place to go! Make sure to bring your own tables and chairs!

SANDCASTLE COMPETITION
1pm to 3pm - Comeau’s Hill Beach, Comeau’s Hill
Anyone 16 and under can join us for a sandcastle competition at the beach! Bring your own beach equipment needed for your castles.
Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian during this event. This event is FREE!
OPENING CEREMONY WINE & CHEESE – Sponsored by The Galaxy Fisheries Limited and Chebogue Fisheries Ltd.
7pm to 9pm (doors open at 6:45pm) – Wedgeport Tuna Museum, Lower Wedgeport
Join us in meeting this year’s Tuna Pageant Princesses and reconnect with previous Tuna Queens throughout the years. We’ll also be celebrating the Official Opening of our 20th anniversary year! Seating will be available.
Tickets: $25 per person (plus cash bar). Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.

CAPTAINS’ SEND-OFF – Sponsored by Fish Safe NS
6pm - Arrive early to see the boats and fishermen at the Wedgeport Breakwater Wharf, Lower Wedgeport
6:30pm - Departure of the boats
Come wish the fishermen well as they set sail for the fishing grounds.

KIDS DAY AT THE PARK WITH YARMOUTH BIG BOUNCE – Sponsored by Dylan & Samantha Fisheries Limited
1pm to 3pm - Parc des Jeunes (“Parc-du-Sud”), Lower Wedgeport
Children ages 12 and under can have fun with Yarmouth Big Bounce and play on the playground.
Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian during this event. This event is FREE!
TUNA WEIGH-IN (pending arrival of boats) – Sponsored by Eric’s Salt & Water Services Ltd.
6pm - Wedgeport Breakwater Wharf, Lower Wedgeport
We will start weighing the giant tuna if some have been caught by the fishing boats. Watch the tuna teams celebrate their catch and experience the excitement!
This event is FREE for spectators! A livestream will also be available on our Facebook page if you’re not able to watch in person.
Thursday, August 22nd
TUNA WEIGH-IN (pending arrival of boats) – Sponsored by Eric’s Salt & Water Services Ltd.
6pm - Wedgeport Breakwater Wharf, Lower Wedgeport
We will continue weighing the giant tuna if more have been caught by the fishing boats.
This event is FREE for spectators! A livestream will also be available on our Facebook page if you’re not able to watch in person.
WEDGEPORT TUNA PAGEANT – Sponsored by La Shoppe à Carl
7pm - Tent behind the Wedgeport Tuna Museum, Lower Wedgeport
Come watch the crowning of the 2024 Tuna Queen! With a theme of “Throughout the Years,” it’s sure to be a fun-filled night with live entertainment by Kidzact!
Cost: $5 per person

Friday, August 23rd
SEAFOOD EXTRAVAGANZA – Sponsored by Coastal Financial Credit Union
4pm to 8pm - Tent behind the Wedgeport Tuna Museum, Lower Wedgeport
Enjoy a large variety of delicious food, including lobster rolls, seafood chowder, bacon-wrapped scallops, tuna steaks, fish bits, chicken and clam rappie pie, hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, and blueberry grunt! The bar will also open at 4pm!
BEER GARDEN, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT & KARAOKE BY ALEXANDRA RODGERSON

Enjoy live entertainment while savoring your meal at the Seafood Extravaganza. Afterward, try singing some karaoke!

TROY BOURQUE’S DJ DANCE PARTY

The fun keeps going with DJ Troy Bourque. Put on your dancing shoes and groove to the music all night. The bar will stay open until 11pm.
Youth under the age of 19 are not permitted in the tent after 8pm. FREE admission in the tent!
